If I tried to make it up I would not have as good a story. First I must say the team played great paintball. Friday, we finished two and two. The guys were down over the losses and moped a little but I have to thank, Dave Baines of Oakland Blast, and Todd Martinez of Dynasty who took a moment to give us the most important piece of advice ever. “Stay together as a team and keep yourselves focused. Be more aggressive” The next day, our “Dark Angel” Dave Polder took it to heart and took a three on one situation and ran them down and shot all of three to win it alone. It was epic.
Saturday, we came back strong and whipped out our games four for four. Andrew, Josh, and Cody couldn’t let Daveski get all the attention so they each pulled out some wild and successful moves. We had the other teams in our division scouting our moves and trying to figure out our bunker calls. Some of the Pros even came over to see the commotion. It was so cool to have our stands full watching our team play. The loud speaker announced our team when they went on field and mentioned that ANGEL was available to tech guns at least six times. Chuck even said “Mike would be happy to check out your ANGEL and make sure you’re ready to perform” Brilliant!
After Saturday’s games, it was party time in the VIP area. I went up into the tower to goof around with Lenny the DJ. While I was up there a cute girl in a bikini came up to throw water balloons. I told her to aim her water balloons at my guys who were looking pretty hot. We giggled for a while until some of them caught a few of them and started lobbing them back. We ducked and they flew into Todd Martinez while he was jamming on the microphone as the Rock Star DJ. We busted up, and got out of there. The music was hot and so were we.
We had late games the next day, and we were having so much fun, my friend Holly and I decided to Bar BQ for the guys. It soon turned into an ANGEL pool party at a friend’s house a few blocks away. No problem we had it covered. We did our shopping and used two huge ice chest for all kinds of meat, veggies and plenty of brews.
The party started out great, we had fun out in the pool for an hour or two, but before we could get the food started, our friend’s mother comes home and announces “you’re welcome to stay and party, but we are all nudists” She’s eighty something. We thought she was joking at first; but when the first raisin walked out the door onto the patio; we grabbed the ice chests and ran for the door. You should have seen the look on the guy’s faces. I was too stunned to take pictures. Darn! I did turn back and get a far away picture of them in the hot tub.
We headed back to the field, as we drove in Chuck H was heading over for a quick brew before he turned in for the night. He busted up when we told him what happened and asked us to keep the shenanigans down to a minimum on the field (yeah right). Russ pulled out his BBQ and started cooking. We ended up goofing around with Todd and his crew in the next trailer over. We had a blast. Thanks to the Dynasty folks for cooking our shrimp. I nearly killed off one of our players by putting shrimp on the Bar B. (He’s allergic) I do my best cooking at the local steak house. So far, my best ANGEL parties have been in hotel rooms and saloons. I’m hoping to step it up before Vegas.
